What is your availability of lock boxes?

Do I need a padlock?

No – we will supply you with a free CISA container lock which is anti-pick and anti-saw for maximum security for your belongings. All units are also alarmed and monitored by the Police.

What can I store in a lock box?

All units are great for storing household furniture, surplus Ebay stock, document archives or virtually anything else which you need space for.

Is there anything I can’t store?

Your lock box is your space, but we do ask customers to not store: explosives or anything flammable, food or other perishable items, anything damp or wet, anything that may leak oil, and animals and plants.

What is the shortest time I can store for?

The minimum storage time we offer is two weeks.

When can I access my lock box?

You can get access to your unit in Swadlincote 365 days a year.

Will my belongings be insured?

We like to ensure that everything in our lock boxes are properly insured. This helps give you peace of mind as well as us. Most home insurance policies only cover goods in your home. We are able to insure your contents through our broker.

Will my lock box suffer from damp?

No. Our lock boxes are very similar to the shipping containers which sit on the open deck of ships. This means they are completely waterproof. To ensure no damp gets into your unit, we advise customers not to store damp or wet items and make sure any fridges or freezers are fully drained and dried before storing.

Can I have more than one lock box?

Of course! Just get in touch with us and we will see what availability we have.

How can I pay for a lock box?

Customers can either pay 6 or 12 months in advanced, or they can take advantage of our pay-as-you-store direct debit scheme. This is the most cost effective way for us and enables us to offer such great rates. We do not accept cash.

Do I have to sign a lease?

No, we try to keep things simple. All we do is ask for you to abide by the terms of our straightforward storage licence.

Do you do removals?

We don’t do removals ourselves. Many of our customers choose to rent a van and move themselves. If you do need a hand many customers choose Moulton Movers who offer a local man with a van service.
